Practicing Change and Letting Go
I enjoy working with LGBTQ+ people, individually and couples. I think of therapy as a place to practice noticing the way your mind works; when you become aware that, you have many more choices about what you might do, versus acting without thinking. I have extensive experience working with substance use disorders and trauma, and my goal with patients is to help them know who they are, accept that, and then try to make their life choices in line with their sense of themselves.
I live in Manhattan with my husband and 2 dogs. I am licensed in NY state as well as New Jersey, and have a limited number of sliding scale and Medicare appointments available. I prefer to work 2-3 times a week, but understand that time and/or finances may not permit. We can talk about that in our phone consultation and/or our consultation session (50 minutes), both of which are free.
Before working in private practice, I was the assistant clinical director of an outpatient mental health clinic in the West Village, where I saw patients and supervised several clinicians. I currently offer in-person and telehealth sessions. My office is wheelchair accessible.
